Thanks to the isothermal temperature regime in the inner tropics, the mean annual temperature of alocation can be established by means of temperature measurements at soil depths of 40-60 cm. This method was employed for the investigation and interpretation of the lapse rate in three tropical mountain ranges, following profile routes up to the high alpine region.Downloads
